understanding radar map

Hi,
Can't make out why the radar button ,when available doesn't give the same map, depending on choice of model.
OK, after current time "radar" obviously means previsions, but why the different maps for actual time?

Only EURAD, USRAD, and WORAD provide real-time measured data for the current time. All other layers show model forecasts, which may differ from actual conditions.

Difficult to follow you here.
When "radar" becomes prevision ( and curiously different from "rain "prevision!) I think it would be better not to show the map just as "radar," or at least explain more clearly that is not what "radar" means to me( =real-time)

Usually "radar" means real to me.
But it differs.

It always differed the last several days. I always use the German "Wetterradar", which should show rain forecast for 2 hours and you can choose between EURAD, WORAD and UKMO.
But they do not show the actual conditions, I learned the last days. They show rain when there is no rain and vice versa.

Respectfully, if it ain't real radar it should not be listed as such.

There are radar forecasts everywhere. Radar nowcasting (forecasting) is completely standard and is never labeled as anything other than Radar.

Why make things complicated?

Radar should be just real time.
Perhaps extrapolating radar for short time is better than the rain forecast, but it seems i'm not the only one that has got muddled-up.
When I look back in time i've no idea what is the basis of models "radar" button , other than as you have explained above for EURAD radar.

It seems no one complaints about it.

but:
If the forecast "wetterradar" is not accurate, I do not need it. I use it because I want a correct forecast.

A forecast is, by definition, always just a forecast. It is never reality. The term 'correct forecast' doesn't really make sense.
