Radar lightning accuracy

Love this site. 9pm mdt Edmonton July 11. Watching a storm on Ventusky radar showing hundreds of lightning strikes across multiple prairie storms. Are these accurate? If so there is a lot. I understand a wide area is covered but that seems like a LOT.

Yes, they are accurate. Coverage in that area is good. The data comes from the Blitzortung network.
