ALADIN/HR model

Hello, I regularly use Ventusky when sailing in Croatia and it's by far my favourite app, thanks a lot for maintaining it! Would it be possible to add the ALADIN/HR model, as computed by the DHMZ institute (https://meteo.hr)? This would be really useful -- the weather maps on their website are hard to browse on cellphones. Dalmatia is possibly the area in the Mediterranean sea with the highest concentration of sailboats, I think lots of people would be extremely happy to see such a feature ;)

Hi, thank you for using Ventusky. There is already Aladin/CZ: https://www.ventusky.com/?p=44.13;15.83;7&l=gu... It is very high quality model (Czechs belong to the top of Aladin's development) and resolution is basically the same as Aladin/HR.

Thanks for your answer! I am aware of the ALADIN/CZ and I use it extensively, but the Croatians claim that their computation is more specific to the weather characteristics in Croatia (see also this paper, even if a bit old: https://www.intechopen.com/chapters/42619), and many rely on their predictions through the website. I am not expert enough to know what this statement practically means, compared to the Czech model, since the resolution is the same — are there other relevant parameters? I would be interested in understanding how much the two forecasts differ, in general…

I don't think it would actually be much different. The core of the model is very similar. Try comparing them from time to time, writing down your results, and eventually, you will see which model is more accurate.

The only disadvantage of the Aladin/CZ model is that it runs only once every 6 hours. But I think that's the case for its Croatian version as well.
