Android app widget auto refresh

I'm using a Samsung Galaxy S25+. The app widget doesn't refresh automatically. It requires a manual refresh. Is this correct?

It depends on the system settings. If the system allows it, it will update automatically. Battery savers and similar features must not prevent it. It always depends on the phone.

I've granted the app all possible permissions, and refreshing still doesn't work. Even launching the app through the widget doesn't force it to refresh. I think something is wrong.
