Flight Plan

Your feedback and suggestions

Hello team,

First of all, I’m very impressed with how amazing your app looks and the features it offers. I initially thought you were similar to Windy.com; however, you are the only app that allows me to go back 24 hours with all the layers that matter to me, which I am incredibly happy with.

The reason I’m interested in this feature is that I enjoy virtual flying, and with the latest Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024, there’s an option to go back 24 hours and experience accurate wind at different altitudes, cloud layers, temperatures, and gusts. It’s absolutely amazing. That is what only app offers at this level.

What I’m missing is just an option to add a flight plan and see the weather across the entire route. Windy does this, so I know it’s possible—would you consider adding this feature as well?

I also noticed that even when I change the altitude unit to feet, it still only allows me to see the values in metres. I think this might be a bug.:!!:

Thank you very much. I’m still in the process of fully testing your app, but I think it’s going to become my number one weather app! ;-)

Change your language to English (US) in the Setting section, please. This will switch the units from meters to feet, as well as update the labels in the GUI. Unfortunately, the units setting applies only to the data and does not affect the text on the website.

We are glad to hear your feedback. Could you please be more specific about what features a flight planner should include, and which features are most important to you?

Thank you very much for the quick response and interest in that idea.
What Windy does well is that they allow the use of plug-ins. I think this is a great idea because implementing it will allow third-party developers or yourself to create additional plugins for anything you want, which many people will find beneficial. One of the plug-ins is called Flight Plan.

Also, it is important to have a database for ICAO, which is one of the codes for airports. There are others, but this one will be sufficient for simulation. Creating such a database shouldn’t be difficult, but Windy goes a step further: see provided photos when you search for airports and even offer the raw version of the information.

That is why it is the most popular app for real pilots. However, this is where you can step in and take the market for virtual flying. Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 now offers accurate weather information for the past 24 hours, and I have already seen the community looking for the best option to access weather data for flight planning.

I don’t expect that this is something you will do, but if you could respond on whether this is something you might consider and how long it might take, I would greatly appreciate it.

Thank you very much.

Thank you! While it’s not a priority at the moment, we’ll consider it in the future. Supporting IATA and ICAO codes in the search should be relatively straightforward.

Thank you very much for this response. I appreciate that you considered it and am very happy that you will be adding ICAO and IATA search. I am definitely looking forward to that.
