Low-resolution satellite images

The Satellite layer uses low-resolution satellite images. The quality is lowest if you zoom in too much. It would be appreciated if you used less compression for images from GOES, HIMAWARI and METEOSAT.

A strong competitor does much better, take it as an example. https://zoom.earth

I don't notice a significantly better resolution in the satellite images on the mentioned page. The comparison image in the attachment includes one from Ventusky and another from the provided page, both showing the Gulf of Mexico. They appear quite similar to me. Could you point out where you see the major differences?

Of course, the quality of the images depends on the zoom, and satellites generally do not allow covering the entire range of all zooms available on Ventusky.

As I had written, the difference can be seen by zooming in a lot on the satellite image.

I see, you mean HIMAWARI. We could improve resolution in this area.
