Precipitation Timeline

I’ve just started using Ventusky and I’m exploring the precipitation map. I noticed that it says “3 hours” on the map, but I’m not sure what exactly that means. Is this showing a forecast for the next 3 hours, or is it 3 hours up to the time I’m at?

It is for the previous 3 hours. Precipitation is always measured over a specific period of time (there are no instantaneous totals).
