Snow forecasting with Arome and satellite quality

Hi everyone,

Would be possible to add the snow forecasting option also with Arome?

do you have any plans to improve the satellite animations? the animation lag a lot and sometimes it freezes. And it would be nice to add the infrared function too.

I'm not sure if snow cover is available in the base layers.

The satellite animation works fine in the app. However, there is a reported bug on the website that we are currently investigating.

I have another weather app where you can see snow forecast with Arome. It is useful because for example for southern Europe there is no high resolution model for snow. Since icon de-2km covers only part of northern Europe. I ask only because Ventusky is my favorite and I would like to have this feature. Thanks again

The main problem is that the model (French version) provides snow cover in kg/m². To display it in cm, we would need to know the snow density, which the model does not include. As a result, any recalculation would be inaccurate. If the snow cover is listed somewhere, it is likely only an estimate.

We would have to consider all snow as freshly fallen under certain conditions.

No, I think the benefit is minimal.

However, we will very soon improve the resolution of the satellite in Europe.
