Hello! Love ventusky and thank you all for creating it!
This may already be a feature but I would love to be able to apply a different background map. Namely the USGS topo but I’m sure there are others that would be useful as well :]
Additionally I would like to suggest a graph(s?) overlay on the map that could display different (or the same) weather variable for the visualization location. So a visualization would be running for precip and you could have the option of adding overlay graphs for wind speed and temperature (or whatever variables). In my mind the graph would display the 24 hour day and the symbology for the variable. For example precip could be like a bar chart with 24/48/72 hr accumulation shown as a line, or wind speed would be a scatter plot with directional arrows indication wind direction (Here I am copying how spot.wx displays their graphical outputs if you would like a reference. I really like their graphical displays :]). It would be good to have an indicator on the graphs for the current time step too… just something like bolding the current time step’s symbology/axis hour or the prediction value displayed somewhere on the graph. I don’t know if this making sense… But I think it would be useful (and cool
) to be able to see more than 1 variable at a time without having to window separate runs for each variable or run the same visualization multiple times for different variables.
