The Ventusky app introduces a new global fire-monitoring layer that combines satellite detected hotspots with officially reported fires from firefighting agencies. Users can now track fire activity worldwide in near real-time directly on the map. Ventusky integrates multiple complementary data sources. Globally, it processes satellite ... More >>
Ventusky Global ??? : USA & Australia ? Yet there is a massive problem with fires in Spain , Portugal, Southern France, Italy, Greece, Albania, Turkey. Time to get you skates on and make "Global" mean "Global" I watched the whole video only to come away severely disapointed.
Simon Reading Satellite-detected hotspots (possible fires) are available worldwide, including Spain, France... Unfortunately, the local government does not have a centralized system from which it would be possible to retrieve firefighters’ reports about fires they are actually responding to. Therefore, only satellite detection is available there, whereas in the USA and some other countries, official real-world fire incident reports are also provided.
Ventusky you say: "Unfortunately, the local government does not have a centralized system from which it would be possible to retrieve firefighters’ reports about fires they are actually responding to. " & official real-world fire incident reports are also provided. I am afraid that is NOT true Portugal (particularly) : - "Prociv" provides exact detail & resources - https://prociv-portal.geomai.mai.gov.pt/arcgis/app... _ Prociv provide the data feed for Fogos.pt Spain: Does have localized government feeds - but I can understand the complexity of wiring in 5 separate data feeds. Italy /Greece relies on European Forest Fire Information System (EFFIS) - which may come under your existing system etc etc. I live in Portugal - and Ventusky "lives " on my desktop - Unfortunately I have to have Fogos.pt living along side it to cover the fires: Luckily there is an automated SMS as soon as a fire is detected in my "County" - Being Disabled - Knowing what is going on is critical for me. :
Portugal - https://prociv-portal.geomai.mai.gov.pt/arcgis/app... I don't understand it. There are only two fires shown there, and all the data are from May 26, so already 3 days old (see image). What would be the point of having data that old, or am I missing something?
Italy/Greece - EFFIS This is what we already provide for Europe — satellite-detected hotspots. These are not actual fire brigade reports, but thermal anomalies detected by satellites, and those are available on Ventusky.
