Ventusky v56: Interactive Cyclone Tracking, Synced Color Scales and Saved Precipitation Preferences

Ventusky app for iOS and Android with version 56 brings several improvements that make weather maps easier to explore and customize across devices. The update focuses on hurricane tracking, synchronization between web and mobile, improved search, more convenient and faster forecast navigation.

Hurricane tracks are now interactive
Hurricane tracks on the map are now clickable. Tapping a point along the track opens more detailed information about the tropical cyclone and its development. This makes it easier to explore both past and forecast positions directly on the map.

Faster data loading and animations
We have improved data loading by automatically preloading upcoming forecast times in the background. This makes animations smoother and faster, and allows you to move through the forecast timeline more quickly.

Custom color scales now sync to the app
Custom color scales created on the Ventusky website can now sync to the mobile app through myVentusky. Scales designed to highlight specific temperatures, precipitation values, wind speeds, or other weather parameters can therefore be used across devices.

Improved search
Search has been improved to make it easier to find a wider range of locations, including islands, mountain passes, airports, and other geographical features. This makes Ventusky search more useful beyond just cities and towns.

Timeline follows the Automatic model range
The timeline is now always displayed according to the range available in Automatic model mode. If the currently selected model is no longer available for a given forecast time, Ventusky automatically switches to another suitable model. This keeps the full available forecast range accessible without requiring manual model changes.

Precipitation interval preference
Ventusky now remembers your selected precipitation interval, so your preferred 1-hour or 3-hour accumulation will remain set for future visits.

New Active Fires notifications
Ventusky can now send notifications about active fires, making it easier to stay informed about significant fire activity in areas you follow.
