Ventusky version 50 launches with a cleaner, smarter, and redesigned interface
Meet Ventusky Version 50 — our most ambitious redesign yet, built to make exploring the weather smoother, clearer, and more natural than ever before. This major update is now available on iOS and Android. We’ve reworked the layout of key controls to make the app easier to use with one hand. The main menu has been moved to the lower-left corner—just like on the web version—so everything important is now literally at your fingertips. As a result, Ventusky feels quicker to control, requires fewer gestures, and is much more comfortable to use even on phones with large displays.
The forecast screen has also undergone a significant transformation. Graphs can now be scrolled directly within their area, allowing you to switch between different data views quickly without having to look for additional buttons. The entire interface is cleaner, more modern, and designed to get you to detailed information faster than ever before.
Location search has been improved as well. It now supports searching for countries and regions, and the results are neatly divided into categories—such as cities, mountains, regions, or ski resorts. This makes it easy for users to immediately understand what type of place each result represents.
Geopotential height
The meteorological offering has also expanded. Ventusky now displays geopotential height at the 850, 500, and 300 hPa levels, including clear contour lines. These upper-air levels are key to understanding pressure systems, airflow, and the overall dynamics of the atmosphere. In practice, this means users can track incoming fronts, the development of troughs and ridges, or the strength of the jet stream much more precisely—parameters that significantly influence the weather both locally and globally. It’s a professional tool, yet designed to remain easy to use even for everyday users.
The update also brings dozens of smaller visual and functional improvements that make the entire interface clearer, faster, and more consistent. On iOS, Ventusky is now fully optimized for iOS 26, taking advantage of the modern capabilities of the system and delivering a more unified experience. The new version introduces a range of practical changes with a single goal—to provide more accurate data and make working with it easier in everyday use.
