Dear Ventusky team

I'm writing as a user who has always admired your platform's creativity and scientific accuracy. That is why I was concerned when I saw that your recent newsletter and video material included AI generated photos and media.

I wanted to explain why I find this troubling:

-Loss of authenticity
One of the things that distinguishes Ventusky is its relationship to real, verifiable weather data and human-created design. Using AI-generated pictures risks compromising its authenticity
- Quality and Trust
AI generated graphics may contain minor inaccuracies or artifacts. For a precision-driven platform, this can erode users' trust in your forecasts and graphics
-The Impact on Creative Work
By relying on generative AI for media, talented designers, illustrators, and video editors risk being sidelined. Many users, myself included, would prefer to support platforms that invest in human creativity
-Transparency
There was no indication in the newsletter that the images were generated by AI. Transparency, in my opinion, is necessary so that consumers may make informed decisions based on what they see.

I'd like to highlight that this is from a point of appreciation.Ventusky has created something extremely valuable and distinctive. My concern is that, leaning into AI generated material may destroy some of the trust and integrity that makes your work stand out

Could you elaborate on your reasoning for using AI generated images and whether you intend to keep using them in your media's and newsletters going forward?

I appreciate your consideration of this comment

Sincerely
-Ilija S

The materials are generated by our colleagues using various tools, including AI. Most of the things you mentioned are not correct – nobody is losing their job because of it in our company (it’s actually the other way around), and it doesn’t cause inaccuracies, etc. Not to mention that AI is commonly used even for creating forecasts themselves, and of course, it represents the future. It is implemented at the level of research institutions and national institutes. It’s a tool like any other.

Dear Ilija,
thank you for sharing your thoughts with us. We value feedback like yours and want to give you some perspective from our side.

The industry is changing
As a graphic designer with 30 years in the business, I see this shift very clearly. Ignoring or fighting new tools usually leads to being left behind. We try to think of AI as just another tool—one that helps small teams like ours create content that would otherwise be out of reach. In a way, it’s like giving a designer an extra pair of hands.

Creativity over compromise
In the past, we often had to spend hours searching through stock libraries, choosing from images created by someone unknown. Now we can generate exactly what we envisioned instead of compromising. In that sense, the process can feel even more true to the original creative idea.

Focus on what matters
Our goal is always to bring the complex data we work with closer to users. Sometimes we use a mascot, sometimes narration, and sometimes illustrative visuals to help tell the story. But these visuals—whether stock or AI-generated—are never the core of the message. The forecasts, models, and calculations you see on Ventusky remain precise, reliable, and powered by high-end weather models.

AI-generated imagery is simply one way to make our communication more effective. It allows us to deliver more often, cover more events, and focus resources where they matter most: improving the data and features our users rely on.

We fully respect your point about transparency and trust. Your feedback will help us be clearer about when and how these tools are used.

Best regards,
Ventusky Creative
