We've been showing live lightning in our mobile apps for a few months now. Starting today, you can also watch them on the web (on radar layer). The locations where lightning has struck are indicated by lightning icons and animations. On the radar, you can easily see which core is producing lightning and its frequency. Awesome! This stops the need for additional weather apps for me. Here in FL, we have a LOT of lightning in our storms, so I'm always checking other sites like weatherbug, or specific lightning strike apps before letting the kids go play (etc). Thank you for adding this!!

Is there a way to get the lightning bolt icons but to turn off the white spots? They are distracting. Thanks.

They highlight the new strokes. It is not possible to turn this feature off.

We decided to slightly modify the appearance of the flashes and add the ability to turn them off. This will be released in the next version. ;-)

In the current version, we have reduced the brightness of the flashes, and you can turn them off with the L key.

Dear all, Thanks for this improvement. However, there are severe thunderstorms over Yemen, but the lightning strikes do not appear in the map at all.

Lightning coverage varies from region to region, with the most extensive coverage in America, Europe, and East Asia. In contrast, Africa and Southwest Asia experience the least coverage.
