Will you get premium version of the website someday? If so, then I will not be happy. I use the ”Snow cover” map several times every day to follow evolution of snow cover and look snow maps from the past days for about 7 years up to the past. If I lose the chance to to that, then I lose very much if this becomes a premium feature, and I will never recover it if I cannot pay then. I have not found any other site that has an interactive temperature and snow depth map for every three hours up to early 2018. I also wish this site had snow depth map up to 1979 like the temperature map, as many places do not have snow data for these times, and better indication about snow cover extent would be helpful.
Elias Savolainen I'm sorry to hear that. However, when you go to a store or a restaurant, you don't ask for everything for free, nor do you feel upset about paying for what you receive. Developing the website and its features requires the time and effort of several people, and operating the servers is also very expensive. Thanks to the support of our current subscribers, we can continue adding new features.
Will the premium features be available on the website too? If so, I lose the only ability to follow snow cover around the world in real time, and in winter it is very useful. If this becomes a paid feature, then I will definitely pay for it.
Elias Savolainen We'll see what the Premium features will be exactly. For now, we're mainly focusing on preparing a payment gateway and enabling the ability to purchase Premium on the website.
I hope that the website will remain completely free for at least a few weeks if it does not remain as such for the future. Or snow cover layer could remain free after that while other layers would become paid. It and temperature are the only two layers I am really interested in. In winter it is good to look snow maps, especially now, when most of Central Europe is snow-free, and I want to see when snow eventually comes there. And because the app has more features than the website, and more people use it, so it would be paid but the website would not.
Do you plan to introduce Premium for the website too in coming days? If so, then I will know that and then try to purchase Premium. But the best options would still be a completely free website.
