Temperature color

Why very low temperatures (about -50C or lower) are now displayed in grey? Previously, all temperatures lower than about -35C were displayed in white, but now there are grey colors for lower temperatures Why this is.so?

It’s the addition of colors to make it possible to explore things like the polar vortex — previously this map used to be completely white: https://www.ventusky.com/temperature-map/10hpa-300...

Now you can see the center of the polar vortex, where the temperature is the lowest.
